General Questions
Q: I get confused as to what steps I am supposed to do with this system? Why are there so many options?
A: Amore Ultima is a customizable system to meet the needs of each tech/client. The tech that uses Amore Ultima will be able to create a unique service for each of their clients based on their lifestyle, nail type and length of nails. VIDEO-french overlay VIDEO-natural overlay
Q: Can I mix Amore Ultima with another line?
A: All of the Amore components are tested together and are meant to be used as a cohesive system. We do not recommend mixing our system with others. Our Educators are trained with our system and will only be able to troubleshoot if you use our entire system as recommended.
Q: Can I mix Amore base gels together?
A: Amore Ultima Gels are formulated to be able to custom mix. All but the bonder, crystal sculpt and Gloss Tops. You can, for example, mix some Builder into the Sculpt and Shine to make a custom builder gel. Or mix Sculpt & Shine into Pink Builder to change it’s viscosity.
Q: Why can’t I cure Amore in an LED? When are you making the change?
A: Amore Ultima Gel Nail System was formulated in the early 1990’s, when UV was the only way to cure a gel product. We have a system that works and have no intention of changing our core system. Because you can flash cure the products in 20 seconds and full set/fill applications require the hands going into the lamps several times, we find there is very little difference in overall service time for full set/fill services. Where LED/UV options seem to make the most sense (cutting service time) is in color applications, and for this we have created the Prisma FX line. Amore Ultima has been testing UV/LED formulas for their base gels, but has not arrived at a formula that performs to the level of their UV line. They have not stopped testing in this area! Stay tuned.
Q: Can I pinch with Amore Gels? If yes, which ones?
A: If you are properly trained to do so, you can pinch the free edge of all of our building gels when performing a new set. The best ones are Clear Builder and Crystal Sculpt.
Q: How do you transfer foils onto Amore Gel?
A: You always want to make sure the dispersion layer is sticky. Most gels are stickier the cooler it is…especially Crystal Sculpt. VIDEO

A: The Amore Bonder is a unique base layer gel that provides superb adhesion without the need for a primer. If you have troubleshooting issues this gel is also able to be used with a primer.
Q: Can I use the Amore System without Bonder if I use a primer?
A: The Amore Bonder is a necessary component to the Amore Ultima Gel Nail System and is in no way recommended to be used without.
Color System Questions
Q: Why do I have to cure Prisma Elites for 3 minutes?
A: The Amore Elite Gel Paints must be cured for 3 minutes to ensure that the highly pigmented colors are cured completely. Also the 3 minute cure will create that high gloss shine, any less and there is a dullness to it.
Q: What happens if I mix Prisma Elite with Prisma Colour?
A: We do not recommend mixing them together in the same pot as Prisma Colours cure with a dispersion layer and Prisma Elites cure with no dispersion layer. However you can layer them no problem on a nail for art purposes.
Q: What is the difference between Pixie Glitters and other brands of glitter gels?
A: The Amore Pixie Gels formulation combine different sizes of high grade micro glitter mixed in a medium viscosity, self leveling base that keeps the glitter suspended so that you never have to mix them. VIDEO
Q: Can I sculpt a free edge with a Pixie Glitter?
A: If you have a skeleton layer of clear gel on the form first you can build with all of the Pixie Glitter OTHER than the DREAM series. The Dream Series of the pixies have larger additives which will cause weakness in the nail if you are solely using it to build with. VIDEO
Q: My colour gel doesn’t look the same as the tip display? Is something wrong with my pot?
A: Most often the pot has not been stirred enough or at all. The colours tend to have the pigment settle to the bottom of the container and you must scrape it off the bottom and lightly stir it completely to ensure you are applying the color the way it is intended. VIDEO
Q: How do I get rid of shadows in the light colored gel (flat nudes)?
When applying any light colors make sure to let it sit on the nail for a bit so that the gel can settle within itself.
Q: My black will not cure, why?
A: Amore Primary and Elite Black are highly pigmented. When dealing with any gels that have a high level of pigment within it you have to make sure your layers are thin and consistent to ensure that the UV can penetrate the gel to cure it throughout.
French/Whites Questions
Q: Why do you have so many whites?
A: Amore Ultima has a wide range of all types of gels including the whites. This is so that each tech and their clients have exactly what they are looking for, this includes strength, tone and workability.
Q: What is your brightest white?
A: Here is a list of our whites in order from brightest(coolest) to not as bright(more warm)
Radical White, Elite White, Primary White, Optima White, Ultra White, White Pearl, White, Maxima White, Swiss Sparkle, Self-Level White, Satin Pearl
Q: What is Radical White?
A: Radical White is a crisp “liquid paper” white paint on product that is recommended for art (dotting, crisp lines etc)
Gloss/Finish Questions
Q: If my client accidentally touches the uncured nail/gloss product, and then cures with uneven surface, do I have to remove/file the entire nail and then reapply?
A: You do not have to file or remove the entire nail. Amore Ultima Gel Nail System has such great adhering capabilities that all you have to do is file the uneven spots and reapply your product.
Q: Can the Glosses be applied on a shiny surface or does it have to be buffed?
A: All of the Amore Gloss Tops, excluding the Quick Seal, adhere to shiny surfaces so you can(if you must) apply them to a finished nail.
Q: What is the best gloss top?
A: All of the Amore Gloss Top Sealing gels have individual purposes, so it all depends on your needs for each client.
Quick Seal is a tack free, non-yellowing sealant that has many different uses – for the underside of the free edge for separation, or for underside of the free edge to keep it free from staining(especially for hairdressers), to seal 3D designs, seal and secure Swarovski’s so that they do NOT budge.
Gloss Top(pink and clear) is a unique self leveling finishing gel that will adhere to shiny surfaces.
Opalesque Gloss Top is a pearlescent self leveling finishing gel.
Crystal Gloss is a super thin finishing gel that has long lasting scratch resistant shine.
Q: Why do the “crystal” gels need to be cured for 3 minutes when all the others are 2 minutes?
A: The Crystal Sculpt and the Crystal Gloss require a 3 minute cure to achieve the scratch resistant high shine that is necessary to withstand every day wear. If you cure it for 2 minutes you will find that the nail will not be AS shiny or as durable as with the 3 minute cure.
Q: What is the difference between pink gloss top and gloss top?
A: A slight variation in the color of the product. It is not enough to make any change in a French nail(on the white).
Q: What is Quick Seal used for?
A: Quick Seal is a tack free, non-yellowing sealant that has many different uses – for the underside of the free edge for separation, or for underside of the free edge to keep it free from staining(especially for hairdressers), to seal 3D designs, seal and secure Swarovski’s so that they do NOT budge.
Q: Is there a difference between Gloss Top and Crystal Gloss?
A: Gloss Top is a self – leveling, unique top coat that adheres to shiny surfaces. Crystal Gloss is a super thin Gloss Top that has a long lasting scratch resistant shine.

Sculpt/Build Product Questions
Q: Builder is TOO thick for me, why is it SO thick?
A: Builder provides maximum durability. It was created with a heavy viscosity to ensure any nail tech would have the ease of application at the stress area of any type of nail enhancement.
Q: Why is Builder Gel getting so hot in the lamp?
A: There can be a few reasons why. One reason could be too much product, another reason could be that the clients nails have been damaged from overfilling or from picking/ripping the nails off. Other more systemic reasons why the gel will get hot in the lamp can be due to medications, illness, hormone changes, etc.
Q: What is Pink Builder?
A: Pink Builder is an ideal troubleshooting product for problem lifting. It has a very heavy viscosity which allows for precise application and no cuticle overflow. It is meant to be used right after bonder as an extra layer of adhesion for those that lift. VIDEO-trouble lifters VIDEO-nail biters
Q: How do I use Pink Builder?
A: Amore Pink Builder is a unique troubleshooting gel. This gel is to be used after the bonder in the areas where you find lifting occurs.
Can you sculpt an entire nail with Conceal and the Cache Pink?
A: Yes, as Conceal and the Cache Pinks are Builder Gels you can build the structure of the nail with them after applying Bonder as your first layer.
Q: What is the Conceal used for?
A: Conceal is a coverage pink to allow the nail technician to achieve a flawless nail bed extension or doing the all too popular nude nail.
Q: What is the difference between Pink Sculpt & Shine and Sculpt & Shine?
A: A slight variation in the color of the product. It is not enough to make any change in a French nail(on the white).
Q: Can I mix Crystal Sculpt with other Amore Gel’s?
A: It’s not recommended as Crystal Sculpt is made differently than our other building gels. You can, however, layer our builder gels as long as they are similar flexibility.
Q: What is the difference between Cache Cool and Cache Warm?
A: Cache Cool has a blue undertone and Cache Warm has a peachy undertone.
Q: Why can you use Sculpt and Shine and Crystal Sculpt to Gloss? What are the benefits to doing this?
A: Both Crystal Sculpt and Sculpt and Shine cure to a high shine. The benefits to using a builder gel as your top gloss is to add extra strength to the nail without adding thickness. It is also an alternative gloss top for those techs that prefer to apply a more full bodied gloss top. Keep in mind, the shine will not last as long as when using a gloss top.
Q: What is the difference between Crystal Sculpt and Sculpt and Shine?
A: Crystal Sculpt allows you to sculpt a thinner, stronger nail and it is less flexible than Sculpt & Shine. Sculpt & Shine offers maximum flexibility with minimal heat transfer. It offers an ease in application. Both can double as a high shine finishing gel. Crystal Sculpt has a more scratch resistant finish than Sculpt & Shine.
